Service Areas - One Airport, One Mile, and What Falls Outside It
A service areas page is only useful if it says no as clearly as it says yes. This one names the towns the desk serves, names the airport it serves them into, and names what is outside with no hedging.
01Inside the zone
One airport: Tucson International, on the south side of the city. One mile of ground beside it, which is where the lots we work with sit, on two streets within roughly half a mile to a mile and a half of the terminal.
The towns whose travellers we take reservations from:
- Tucson, all of it, including the east side, the foothills and the west side.
- Marana and Oro Valley, north west and north.
- Vail, east on the interstate.
- Sahuarita and Green Valley, south on the interstate.
- Catalina and Corona de Tucson, for anybody who counts those separately.
If you are driving from any of those to Tucson International, this desk can place a reservation for your dates.
02Outside the zone, and this is the honest half
| Where | Answer | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Phoenix and its field | No | A different airport two hours up the interstate. We have no relationship with anything there and will not quote it |
| Anywhere in Maricopa County | No | Same reason |
| Yuma, Flagstaff, Prescott, Sedona | No | Different airports, different towns, no lots we work with |
| Nogales and the border towns | No | Outside the mile and outside the catchment |
| Any airport outside Arizona | No | One airport is the whole of it |
| On the airfield itself | No | The field's own lots are not ours to book. See the airport lots page |
03Why the zone is this small
Because a desk that takes a reservation it cannot fill has helped nobody, and because the whole argument of this site is that one mile of ground beside one airport is a subject you can actually know.
We also say no to Phoenix for a reason worth stating: people ask, because the field there is much larger and the fares are sometimes lower. What we will tell you is that it is a two hour drive each way. Four hours of a trip is a real cost, and it is your decision rather than ours.
04What being inside the zone does and does not get you
Does: a reservation placed with an operator on the airport mile for your run of dates, a rate for those available dates, and the operator's address, gate hours, van hours and number for the day of travel.
Does not: transport to the lot. You drive there. This desk arranges no car, no shuttle from your house and no ride of any kind. The van in the reservation is the operator's van between their lot and the terminal, and nothing else.
05The nationwide question, answered plainly
This desk is not nationwide and does not claim to be. That flag is set to false in the claims sheet with a written reason, and this page is the reason: one airport, one mile, a handful of towns.
An advertisement pointing here that described national coverage would be describing a different business.
